Donnerkogel, 2055 m
|
|
starting point:
|
Lower Gosausee, cable car station
|
|
time:
|
2 hours up
|
|
character:
|
steep, difficult
|
Donnerkogel is reserved for the advanced
walkers. There are some steep parts which are very rocky. You should
know where to put your feet. After rain it could be a little bit slippery.
From the cable car station it is not far upe to the top, just 2 hours,
but if you want to go down by cable car, don´t leave to late.
From the cable car we follow a wide way just a few minutes to Gablonzerhütte.
At a junction just between two huts we turn to the left an walk up
to a small path to Törlecksattel. A few minutes away starts a
via ferrata, called Intersport Klettersteig up to Donnerkogel.
A few minutes later we reach another junction at Unteren Törlecksattel,
where we turn to the left again. The other way is leading towards
Stuhlalm and Hofpürglhütte.
Donnerkogel is the northern corner pillar of Gosaukamm. The terrific
view to Dachstein and Bischofsmütze has always fascinated the
mountaineers. If you don´t want to go down on the same way you
can go on further to Stuhlalm.
It is a little bit equipped like a via ferrata and you should be free
of giddiness.
But notice, this will take a whole day, so get up from Gosaulake with
the first cable car in the morning. But it is really recommendable!
Three mountains you could attach to Donnerkogel. Steinriesenkogel
and Strichkogel are on the way and 2101 m Angerstein is not far from
Strichkogel. To make all, you have to be in really good shape.
From Strichkogel you follow the way down to Stuhlalm and then you
walk below the western walls of Donnerkogel back to the cable car
station.
The way down from Weitscharte to Scharwandhütte and Gosausee
is not recommendable without mountainguide. There is no marked way
and the "path" leads down over rocks and to move there is
very tiresome. |
